Useful Info
Death knights are human followers of Yredelemnul. They can cast Agony and hurl umbral torchlights. Small circle of umbra surrounds them as well. They spawn in the Vaults, as well as the Crypt - usually with undead like freezing wraiths, phantasmal warriors, and flayed ghosts.
As followers of Yredelemnul, death knights are unaffected by umbra's accuracy penalty. As humans, they are not vulnerable to holy wrath.

|---|---|---|
| Slot1 | Agony | Priest flag |
| Slot2 | Hurl Torchlight (3d19) | Priest flag |
Tips & Tricks
- Agony is basically torment, so it hurts a lot. A potion of lignification gives immunity to this spell. Having high willpower reduces the chance of it affecting you.
- Hurl Torchlight may empower Death knight's undead allies as well as damage you, possibly making it dangerous. However followers of Yred and undead species are immune to its damage.
History
- In 0.34 Death knights received higher HD/AC/HP/EV and Injury Mirror was replaced with Hurl Torchlight, spell similar to one of Yred's abilities. Small umbra surrounding them was added as well. They can no longer be met in late dungeon but mostly in the Vaults. Bands and equipment probability were also adjusted.
- Prior to 0.18, death knights could cast Haunt, and could not be found in the Dungeon.
- Prior to 0.17, death knights could cast Drain Life and Animate Dead instead of Agony and Haunt.
- Death knights replaced deep dwarf death knights in 0.15.
