Death knights are followers of Yredelemnul. As with deep dwarf death knights before them, they use his invocations to animate the dead, drain life, and partially reflect damage inflicted on them. They are occasionally found in the Crypt and its vaults, most notably in its branch ends. Outside of said vaults and branch ends, there is a 66.66% chance for them to have a band of 3-4 of Yred's gifts:

* As always with Injury Mirror, it is a good idea to avoid potential self-harm and delay direct or long-lasting attacks (examples of the latter being poison and clouds) until after the status ends. Regularly checking in tiles for the status icon or in console with x over the monster is important to avoid significant damage.

A warrior-priest of Yredelemnul that chants unholy homages to the dark god and calls forth the dead.

Useful Info

Death knights are human followers of Yredelemnul. They can cast Agony and reflect damage back to they take. They spawn in late Dungeon, as well as the Crypt - usually with undead like freezing wraiths, phantasmal warriors, and flayed ghosts.

As followers of Yredelemnul, death knights are unaffected by umbra's accuracy penalty. As humans, they are not vulnerable to holy wrath.

Spells

Spell set I
Slot1 Agony Priest flag
Slot2 Injury Mirror Priest flag

Tips & Tricks

 • Agony is basically torment, so it hurts a lot. A potion of lignification gives immunity to this spell. Having high willpower reduces the chance of it affecting you.
 • Watch out for Injury Mirror - it's often a good idea to stop attacking the knight during Injury Mirror. Check for the status icon (or the status text in console) to make sure it ends. Also note that lasting effects, e.g. poison and clouds, count as your damage for their duration.
