"I really believe what you say, answered the knight; for, I have been engaged with the giant, in the most obstinate and outrageous combat that I believe I shall ever fight in all the days of my life: with one backstroke, slam went his head to the ground; and discharged such a quantity of blood, that it ran like rills of water, along the field." -Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, _The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha, IV, 10. 1605. |
Useful Info
Stone giants are quite common in the later parts of the Dungeon, where they can be quite dangerous, particularly to squishy casters. They hit hard in melee and can throw their large rocks further than you would believe possible. Fortunately, they have no particular resistances and have low EV.
Tips & Tricks
- Mephitic Cloud is unlikely to affect them, given their high HD.
- If you can't handle them in melee and don't want to be crushed beneath a flurry of boulders, try fighting them at range while invisible. It doesn't guarantee you won't still take a face full of rock, but it greatly reduces the odds of that happening.
