Mottled dragon armour is one of the best armours available for stealthy or spellcasting characters. It provides decent AC and GDR in exchange for a very small encumbrance rating which even characters with a terrible Armour skill aptitude (such as spriggans, ogres, trolls, or deep elves) can easily overcome. Also, it is the best armour in the game still capable of benefiting from Ozocubu's Armour. Unfortunately, it is rarely found lying around, and its special resistance to Sticky Flame is not very useful.
