Helmets are a kind of head armour that have 1 base AC, and which may be enchanted up to +2. They may only be worn by small- or medium-size adventurers without horns or antennae. All others must resign themselves to wearing hats.
Helmets can have the following egos:
Egos such as cold and fire resistance on helmets are fairly uncommon, usually only found in mini branches such as the Volcano.
History
Prior to 0.14, helmets came in the following descriptive varieties: winged, horned, crested, plumed, spiked, or visored. These descriptions changed the tile used to represent the helmet but had no other in-game effect.
