Useful Info
Flayed ghosts are one of the beefier undead enemies, hitting as hard as a death yak. Beyond that, however, they've got no particularly unique features except for a curious lack of cold resistance, and they show up so late in the game that they aren't terribly threatening. They are found in the lower-Dungeon, the Crypt, and Gehenna.
Tips & Tricks
- You can summon your own flayed ghosts with the Haunt spell.
History
In 0.13 flayed ghosts will have a smite-targeted ability that causes irresistable damage that scales with max hp, though will never reduce the target to less than ~15-20 hp. Those injuries are illusory: killing the flayed ghost will instantly end the effect and heal all hp lost to it, as will spending some number of turns out of the ghost's presence. Flayed ghosts will be removed from the list of monsters that can be summoned with Haunt.
