A spriggan whose connection with the birds and the beasts is exceptionally strong. Revelling in nature, these protectors of forests are the doom of anyone who so much as snaps a twig. |
Useful Info
Spriggan druids are deadly spriggan spellcasters whose powers are dependent upon the forests which they guard. They can deal irresistible damage to you each turn you spend adjacent to a tree, blast you with irresistible conjurations, and summon savage wildlife from elsewhere on the floor to come to their aid. They can be found accompanying the Enchantress or in spriggan-themed vaults, such as the occasional spriggan forest found on Lair:8.
Variant Spriggan Druid
You may encounter young spriggan druids while exploring the spriggan forest vault on Lair:8. These are somewhat less durable than the mature versions, but are still capable of casting any of a mature druid's most deadly spells.
A junior member of the order of spriggans sworn to protect nature. While less dangerous than the elders, this one is perfectly capable of dealing with trespassers like you. |

Tips & Tricks
- Fighting a spriggan druid within its forest can prove fatal, as their Awaken Forest spell will cause you to take damage every turn you spend adjacent to a tree. If possible, lure them out and fight in a clearing, or burn the forest down first with powerful Fire Magic.
- Druid's Call immediately teleports several animals from elsewhere on the floor to the druid's aid. On Lair:8, this often includes death yaks and hydras. If possible, try to kill off the entire population of a floor before engaging a spriggan druid, strongly consider fighting them from a distance, and do not simply Tab combat them; you'll want to react to the reinforcements quickly.
- Sunray deals decent damage to most characters, but heavy damage to vampires. Be careful.
- Haste Plants is mostly harmless in most areas, but can prove deadly in the Enchanted Forest. Try to avoid fighting spriggan druids near treants, thorn hunters, or thorn lotuses.
- Although fragile, they have exceptional EV, making it difficult to land blows. Anything that bypasses it (e.g. Beogh's smiting, Fireball, Vampiric Draining) will help keep the battle short.
History
In 0.14, Sunray was replaced with Stone Arrow, and all animals which witness the death of a spriggan druid are instantly healed and frenzied.
Prior to 0.13, they had Summon Caniforms in place of Druid's Call and Haste Plants.
Spriggan druids were added in 0.7.
