Helmets are a kind of head armour that have 1 base AC, and which may be enchanted up to +2. They may only be worn by small- or medium-sized adventurers without horns, antennae, or a beak. All others must resign themselves to wearing hats.
Helmets can have the following egos:
History
- Prior to 0.19, you could find hats with cold and fire resistance egos in ice caves and volcanoes.
- Prior to 0.14, helmets came in the following descriptive varieties: winged, horned, crested, plumed, spiked, or visored. These descriptions changed the tile used to represent the helmet but had no other in-game effect.
