Version 0.31: This article is up to date for the latest stable release of Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup.
It has been blessed by The Shining One, dealing an additional three-quarters of any damage that pierces undead and demons' armour.

The holy wrath brand does the following:

  • Against undead and demons, deals an average of +75% damage (min. 1, max. +150%).[1] This is independent from "holy" damage, so undead that are rHoly (e.g. profane servitors) are not immune to holy wrath.

You cannot wield weapons with this brand if you yourself are undead (Mummy, Ghoul, all Vampires, in Death Form) or a demonspawn. Holy wrath will also offend Yredelemnul, though the other evil gods won't mind.

Sources

Holy wrath can be found on any melee weapon except demon blades, demon tridents, and demon whips (which become their blessed counterparts instead). It can not be obtained through a scroll of brand weapon. It can also be found by:

  • Prior to 0.4, holy wrath only dealt +50% average damage against undead (but had the same damage vs. demons).
