A crude ornament carved from the horn of a rare arctic beast - so cold to the touch that ice still clings to it. Transforms the user into a rime yak, a hardy ungulate that is highly resistant to cold and whose breath is so frigid that it freezes the walls around itself as it fights. Being so attuned to arctic temperatures also makes it easier for the user to cast Ice magic. |
A rimehorn talisman is a talisman that changes you into an icy yak.
Useful Info
When eVoked, a rimehorn talisman turns you into Yak Form, which lasts until you end the form. Entering or exiting a form takes 5 turns.
Yak Form has the following effects:
Offensive traits
- Unarmed Combat: 7 base damage
- Attacking enemies next to walls creates frigid walls next to the target, which deal cold damage to adjacent enemies each turn (similarly to Frozen Ramparts).
- Frigid wall damage scales from 2d12 per turn at minimum shapeshifting skill to 2d18 at maximum skill.
Defensive traits
- +15% Hitpoints
- Cold resistance 2 (rC++)
- Fire vulnerability (rF-)
- Innate AC: +6-12 AC, scaling with shapeshifting skill
Restrictions
- Melded Gear: All weapons and armor
- Suppressed mutations: Anatomy
The form gives a wizardry bonus to all your Ice Magic spells (an equivalent of two rings of wizardry). Also, it allows you to swim in water.
Yak Form has a minimum Shapeshifting skill of 8, below which you get an HP penalty. Maximum skill is 14.
