Useful Info

Guardian mummies behave much like regular mummies, shuffling into melee with you and attacking as best they can. Unlike standard mummies they can hit hard, move nearly as fast as the average character, have no particular weakness to fire damage, and pack a much more exciting death curse. They are found in or guarding the Tomb, as well as in certain undead vaults and extremely rarely as a boss in the Ossuary.

Tips & Tricks

  • Avoiding their death curses is advisable. While a single death curse is rarely life-threatening, there are dozens of guardian mummies in Tomb, and the accumulated damage and stat drain is not fun. Powerful Summoning spells such as Haunt, summoned angels from the Shining One, and animated holy weapons are all good ways of dealing with them.
  • If you do end up killing them yourself, a ring of sustain abilities or two and being undead through Necromutation or just by nature will take much of the sting out of their death curse. Abjuration is also useful for getting rid of any demonic reinforcements. If possible, try to lure them to relatively isolated, already cleared areas first; noise travels far in the Tomb, and you don't want to find yourself slowed or tormented while facing down a dozen angry mummies.
