Fire dragon scales are a relatively light suit of body armour which provides reasonable physical defense, a bearable encumbrance rating, and excellent fire resistance (rF++). However, they also penalize the wearer with one rank of cold vulnerability.
This item may randomly generate when you slay a fire dragon.
Desirability
Many players consider these scales the best general-purpose armour: they provide almost as much protection as plate armour, while having an encumbrance rating that will still allow spellcasting. The rF++ they provide is very useful, and the rC- is usually bearable given that cold attacks are generally rarer and less damaging than fire attacks, with a few notable exceptions. - Before 0.19, this item was known as fire dragon armour. It was obtained from using a scroll of enchant armour on fire dragon hide
- Prior to 0.10, this item was known merely as "dragon armour". It was renamed to avoid confusion with other dragon armours.
