A ring is a type of jewellery. Characters may wear one ring on each hand, paw, or tentacle; this usually limits you to two rings at a time, but octopodes may wear eight, and followers of Ru who have sacrificed their hand can only wear one ring. The artefact macabre finger necklace grants one additional ring slot. Despite their additional limbs, formicids are still limited to two ring slots.
Rings have the advantage of only requiring 0.5 auts to remove or put on, letting characters change their resistances on the fly.
There are 18 different base types of rings; random artefact rings each use one type of base ring when generated, but will have one or more additional properties. For a list of preset artefect rings, see List of unrands:

- +4 Ring of evasion: Increases the player's EV score by 4.
- Ring of fire: Grants rF+, rC-, and one spellpower boost to Fire Magic.
- Ring of flight: Grants the Evoke Flight ability, allowing the player to fly for a time.
- Ring of ice: Grants rC+, rF-, and one spellpower boost to Ice Magic.
