Helmets are a kind of head armour that have 1 base AC, and which may be enchanted up to +2. They may only be worn by small- or medium-size adventurers without beaks, horns, or antennae. All others must resign themselves to wearing hats.
Possible egos include:
- Intelligence (+3)
- See invisible
- Fire resistance (rarely found in the Volcano)
History
Prior to 0.14, helmets came in the following descriptive varieties: winged, horned, crested, plumed, spiked, or visored. These descriptions changed the tile used to represent the helmet but had no other in-game effect.
