A member of the salamander's scholarly caste, possessed of lesser size and strength, but wise in the ways of magic. Through hermetic rites, they can channel the fire within them to empower their allies, hurl blasts of lava or, by fusing their arts with those of their naga brethren, ignite even a single drop of poison within the veins of an enemy.

Useful Info

A distant relative of the naga, salamander mystics are magically-gifted, fiery snake men. Unsurprisingly, they are immune to fire and vulnerable to cold. Along with their ability to haste their allies and pelt you with modestly powerful conjurations, they can take advantage of the poisonous attacks of their naga alllies to ignite the blood in your veins. They can be found in groups of other salamanders in the Depths, and with naga allies as well in the Snake Pit.

Slot1 Iskenderun's Mystic Blast (3d15) Wizard flag
Slot2 Bolt of Magma (3d18) Wizard flag
Slot3 Haste Other Wizard flag
Slot4 Localized Ignite Poison Wizard flag

Tips & Tricks

  • Fire resistance greatly reduces their ability to deal damage to you, but even then they can still provide dangerous support for their allies. Poison resistance also comes in handy to avoid their Localized Ignite Poison spell, though if you have sufficient fire resistance, taking a little fire damage may be worthwhile to cure you of your poison level.
  • Characters of races with naturally poisonous biology (nagas, kobolds, green draconians, and players in Spider Form) don't have to be poisoned for Localized Ignite Poison to work on them, making fire resistance much more important.
    • Conversely, characters of races that are immune to poison (the undead and gargoyles) have nothing to fear from the spell, as it can never affect them.
