Difficulty of Play
Simple • Intermediate • Advanced |
Humans are a fairly easy race to master, due to their advantage of advancing extremely quickly in experience, as well as lacking the drawbacks some of the more exotic species have.
However, Humans have a lack of specialization in both skill aptitudes and raw attributes, which means that another species can often outperform them in a given background, even if that species is much worse than a Human outside its one niche. (For example, Minotaurs are tougher and more skilled than Humans in melee combat, even though they perform much worse than Humans at spellcasting.) Then again, this does mean Humans can more easily pull off "hybrid" playing styles or pick up a few tricks outside their chosen background.
