Hats are a form of head armour. Unlike helmets, they provide no base AC, but can be used by large- or little-sized characters, as well as those with beaks and all but the largest of horns and antennae. They can be maximally enchanted to +2.
Hats can have the following egos:
- Intelligence (+3)
- Willpower (+40)
- Stealth (+50)
- See invisible

History
- Prior to 0.27, hats couldn't have Stealth ego.
- Prior to 0.20, hats could have Spirit shield ego.
- Prior to 0.19, you could find hats with cold and fire resistance egos in ice caves and volcanoes respectively.
- Hats were added in 0.14, consolidating wizard hats and caps.
