This weapon falls into the Polearms category. It is a two handed weapon.
The halberd is a two-handed polearm which offers mediocre speed, damage, and accuracy. You are likely better off using a trident and shield, or upgrading to a bardiche if you can find one, but it can serve as an adequate reaching weapon early on if you find one with an exciting brand.
