A long polearm with sharp protrusions on either side of the spearhead.

This weapon falls into the 'Polearms' category. It is a one-handed weapon.

Partisans are the heaviest one-handed polearms, dealing more damage than demon tridents while having the highest base delay of any one-handed weapon. Though partisans slightly weaker than double swords or eveningstars, their reaching ability helps make them more desirable.

Strategy

Compared to demon tridents

With both weapons at mindelay, a +0 partisan deals the same damage/turn as a +0 demon trident against 0 AC enemies. While AC and flat boosts like slaying could alter the calculations, it's not by much - either weapon is enough to win a 3 rune game.
