A terrible weapon, moulded by fire and brimstone. |
This weapon falls into the 'Polearms' category. It can be used with one hand, or more effectively with two (i.e. when not using a shield), and it is better for the dexterous. Demonspawn deal slightly more damage with it.
Demon tridents are one of the best polearms available for characters who intend to wield a shield, dealing more base damage than standard tridents, though at a slight cost to accuracy. If you're playing a demonspawn character, they become even better, dealing slightly more damage.
Although good gods frown upon the use of this weapon, worshipers of the Shining One can use his last ability to convert a demon trident into a trishula of holy wrath, an excellent option for use in the end game. You can revert a trishula back to a demon trident by praying at an altar to Kikubaaqudgha or Lugonu at max piety, though this is rarely a worthwhile trade.
