According to legend, a knight once suggested the idea of a double-bladed sword to a master forger as a joke, but was pleasantly surprised to find that not only was the forger capable of making such a sword, but that the weapon produced was extremely deadly. |

In spite of the fact that it's a ridiculous concept, the rare double sword is an extremely desirable weapon for any character looking to wear a shield while still doing heavy damage in melee combat, as it has the highest base damage of any one-handed weapon. Although unskilled fighters will find them slow and inaccurate, they shine in the late game once you've mastered Long Blades, especially once you've given yours a freezing brand or had it enchanted with holy wrath by the Shining One.
