This weapon falls into the 'Axes' category. It is a one handed weapon, and it is better for the strong.
The hand axe is fairly powerful for a starting weapon, and is the only axe capable of reaching an attack speed of 6 auts. Theoretically, this makes it an interesting option if you happen to find a hand axe of pain or electrocution, but one would be sacrificing tremendous amounts of physical damage in the process.
Like all the axes, this weapon allows the player to cleave.
