Centaur
- This page is about the player species. For the monster, see Centaur (monster).
Centaurs are a race of hybrid creatures: horses with a human torso. They usually live in forests, surviving by hunting.
Centaurs can move very quickly on their four legs and are excellent with Bows and other missile weapons. Only Spriggans excel them at the hit and run game. However, they are mediocre at other weapon skills, make below-average magicians, and they level slowly. Due to their large bulk, they also need extra food to survive, cannot wear most armour, are easier to hit, climb stairs slowly, and find it difficult to sneak around. Much as the monstrous species are often pigeonholed into melee combat, Centaurs are best off fighting at distance.

Difficulty of Play
Simple • Intermediate • Advanced |
Centaurs are a moderately difficult species to play because poor base attributes, low AC bonus from equipment, the need to constantly eat food (without the carnivorous digestive system Trolls enjoy), and a large body size (meaning less Stealth and Dodging). They are also ineffective with both light and heavy armor, thanks to poor aptitudes in both Armor and Dodging. However, they have great HP, an innate AC bonus, and their speed is second only to Spriggans. They also have decent melee aptitudes, favoring Unarmed Combat (which is especially good due to their hooves!).
