Useful Info
Deep elf mages are flimsy but unpredictable deep elf casters, capable of casting anything from the wizard spell lists, though at significantly lower spell power. They may be nearly harmless, or they may peg you with a Lehudib's Crystal Spear, or they may simply banish you to the Abyss. They often appear in packs with other deep elves, and can be found in the Elven Halls and some baileys.

Spell Set C: Bolt of Fire (3d12), Bolt of Cold (3d12), Lehudib's Crystal Spear (3d20), Petrify, Blink, Minor Healing
Spell Set D: Stone Arrow (3d9), Sting (1d7), Lightning Bolt (3d12), Banishment, Blink, Minor Healing

Tips & Tricks
These mages are the biggest reason to avoid exploring the Elven Halls until you've acquired decent magic resistance. Even if they don't banish you, they always come with a variety of unpleasant Hexes. When facing them in packs with other deep elves, they should be a higher priority than the deep elf fighters, soldiers, and knights, but the other spell casters may be bigger threats.
