For the current version of this skill, see Traps.
Traps & Doors was the skill that let you detect and disarm traps (hold CTRL while moving in the direction of the trap; not all traps could be disarmed) as well as find hidden doors. Higher skill let you disarm traps with a better chance of success and detect traps before stepping on them. Most players would want to eventually train in this skill to avoid the deadly Zot traps of the deeper floors.
Traps & Doors could always be trained.

History
In 0.12, hidden doors were removed from the game. As a result, the name of this skill was changed to Traps. In 0.13, the skill was removed entirely. Instead, traps are detected based on your experience level, and secret doors are no more.
